PHOTO NUMBER FORTY-ONE
I am happy to announce that I have joined the team at Cane Land Distilling Co. where I will be doing content creation. It's so funny how much you learn about yourself once you step out of your comfort zone. Apparently, I absolutely LOVE product photography. It is so fun to brainstorm with other people to make a vision a reality.
The Marketing Director, Maxie Benoit, and I had the best time creating these cocktail photos. We planned out which drinks we wanted to make, wrote out a list of props to go with it, stole a table from the tasting room (shhh..), loaded up her car and made the trip over to the Alma Plantation & Sugar Mill. Alma is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. They have piles of sugar bigger than bulldozers and cane fields for miles. If you ever have the chance to visit Alma and take a tour, I encourage you to do so. I think it is fascinating to see how liquor is made from start to finish. There are so many amazing people involved who do such hard work to make it a reality.
When we got to Alma, Maxie and I essentially set up a cocktail bar in the trunk of her car and got to work. We kept laughing about how to the farmers we probably looked like we were running a high end lemonade stand. If you are stuck in a rut, try to find people who enjoy the same things as you. Join a club, ask a friend. It is so rewarding to have a day where you genuinely enjoy every second of it. When is the last time you had one of those days?
